FIST provides services to people especially women facing multiple barriers to employment and people who are survivors to violence and or abuse, to achieve positive changes in their lives. This can include increasing life skills and community connections as well as obtaining employment.

This is targeted at improving life management skills of women in areas such as self-esteem, relationships, communication, assertiveness and advocacy, copying strategies, dealing with stress, anger and isolation. FIST achieves this through:

→ Supporting the communities to setup leadership and governance structures as well as training the leaders in leadership skills that can enable the effective service delivery in the community.

→ Supporting the people set-up arbitration structures for addressing personal grievances and provide Alternative to Violence Peace trainings (AVP) to the community leaders and members.

→ Implementing of life sills projects for the people which results into proper grooming and upbringing of the youths.

→ Promoting women into leadership structures for improved service delivery.

→ Establishing structures for enabling the Extremely Vulnerable Individuals as well as persons with Special Needs (PSNs) to access the basic services available in a given community.

→ Provision of HIV & AIDS awareness, counseling, support innovative programs in orphans and vulnerable children and home based health care (HBC) for the HIV affected.

→ Promote programs for cultural exchange and preservation.

→ Ensure that the recreational facilities are and youth centers are made available to the people in communities. Such facilities result into youth empowerment activities such as sports, theatre, career development and prevention drug abuse training.
