Every child in Uganda has a right to quality and accessible education, however not every child enjoys this right. This is because of the lack of basic needs, early pregnancies, poor infrastructure like impassable roads and lack of schools in some areas, increased death rates of parents/ guardians, rising rates of child labor in most communities of Uganda among others. Children move long distances to fetch water and firewood from swamps, nearby forests, ponds and engage in fishing activities among others. This as a result affects their studies which leads to missing out on school and sometimes dropping out.
